I am having great difficulty trying to find my way back to a place where there is peace and light enough to find my path.
Walter is having symptoms that are worrying me a great deal and he seems most comfortable in the place called Denial. It is so very, very hard for me to not to see the changes in just the last 6 weeks. He is exhausted and in bed by 8:00 most every night now. He is still exhausted when he gets up and even though his hot flashes continue he is cold all the time, too.
Walter has always been much more of a "the glass is half full" than I have. He says things now though that cause me to stop what I am doing because my heart falls quickly like a fast elevator going down.
I hope that I am wrong about what I see and what I feel after observing him throughout a day. I have been with Walter for almost 28 years and after that many years I know when he is feeling physically sick and when he is drained in so many other ways.
The One above has the final say. I know this to be the truth but it seems like my faith is being tested???
I will write again soon.
Be safe and and love and peace is wished for all of you from me.

Dear Marjorie, yes I think your faith is being tested! To me now it seems that life is one continuous series of tests  even in the positive experiences we have! I feel you should take the middle path, that means you do everything to help and support Walter in a positive spirit and at THE SAME TIME surrender everything you do and what happens to God. He knows what is best and no doubt He loves all His children the same and provides help without fail.

Dear Marjorie,

I share 110 % of what Sarena and Sue Lenora are expressing above.

Please, let me add: put aside Fear as to let LOVE take care of everything.

You are in my Heart and I see Walter and you there in a golden warmth of Light.

Dear Margie, I too feel for your worry and Walter's suffering silently in "denial". Have you spoken to his doctor about him giving Walter something to help build back the red blood cells that he has lost in treatment? They have things that will give patients new strength but you don't get them if you don't ask for them. Walter may not be able to ask, but you could ask for him and it might help a great deal. Treatment takes every strength away, mentally and physically, and some people can't come back strong as others, there is somethings that will help. I have had my sis in law who got nothing to help her because they didn't say there was something and she didn't ask-I later found out through another friend who had problems with liver cancer and she got the stuff that built her up and she whipped the symptoms of wipe out pretty easily. She was 65 at the time. She lived for 3 years after they said she was a gonner and she felt pretty good right to the end. It was her heart that gave up, and that was unexpected as she showed no symptoms until after it happened...then they found the problem. there. Just wanted you to know in case you had not been told, you can ask for help and they may have something that will strengthen his ability to rebuild and fight back.
Unfortunately, treatments they have now for such things are indiscriminate in what they "kill off" and the good goes with the bad-sometimes the body can't recoup the good ones that are lost as a result.
I would also start giving him two tablespoons of flax seed oil from a good healthfood store-they is currently what is helping alot toward breast cancer patients-even thouse who did the cut, burn and poison routine.
It doesn't hurt to ask and if Walter isn't receptive toward such things, go around him and ask for yourself. AFter all he is your man. wjh

our dear Marjorie,
wish I could do something to make you feel better but I can only understand how one worries over a person she/he loves.Love is a thing that makes us happiest and most desperate at the same time.I too try to understand why my dad changed and locked himself in a world of his own and never resists the difficulties his ailment brings to him everyday,he gave up,which is killing me,bro and mom.I think we have higher expectations for him than he has for himself, so our disappointment is bigger than his' all the time.Just want to wish you and dear Walter much better days ahead by some protecting powers, afterall, aren't you both the grandparents who've been blessed before.by those two prescious baby boys..love and hugs for all of you..
