Teenagers In Trouble.....

The Chiefs of police in both Los Angeles and Memphis stated that Elvis had
helped many people out of various situations. In the 1970'sit was reported
that Elvis occasionally helped out teeagers who were in trouble with the
lawsometimes even paying their bail. Before the policemen would let the
teens go however Elvis would lecture them for a couple of hours about
lifel aw limits and obeying the rules. He read their rap sheets and lectured
them about what they'd done wrong and what they could and should doto be better citizens in the future. Once these boys had their ears full of Elvis'
words they thanked him for bailing them out and ran off as fast as they could

Elvis was very smart. It bothers me that he is perceived as, well less then that...

Too bad stories like this arn't well known. People make fun of him all the time, portraying him as something which he clearly wasn't.
Realy, even the the people who impersonate him, they just, make me cringe. and...--> (Sorry had to say that. I rarely watch television, but I sat trough a serie a couple of days ago, and 3 guys dressed like him just made me cringe.)
If you gonne do it, do it well, and show some respect...

If you tell al lie long enough people start believing it. Portraying someone a sertain way, over and over again, the same thing. People start believing it. Just don't think it's fair.

You got that So Right Raina, Elvis didn't mind anyone potraying him. But he would tell them, if you going to to do it do it right. I try and stay as clear of the Elvis Bashing as much as I can, its such a real shame that people instead of trying to find out more about a person they take what people say as the Truth. FairyTale! :(

Hi FairyTtale,

You said "instead of trying to find out more about a person they take what people say as the Truth. FairyTale!"

That's sad but true indeed.
Luckily we have people like Wanda, who gave so much, to balance all the BS some people spread around. And she does great. 8)

Something else that bothers me is that among other artists' accomplishments there is a stride, who is best. Down talking one or the other. He sold more record, but he did this or that. Trying to weigh accomplishments off (if that is how you say that)

Times change, there's always been diffirent styles, diffirent interests.
What matters is the mark they left in history. What influence they had, right?

Love, Raina

PS Sorry Di for turning this nice little story into something else...
