"I'm not a top-40 artist and that's nothing I aspire to be. That's not what I want. There's no need for my existence unless Im giving back to mankind. It feeds my spirit. To be in this position and be able to give to others makes me happy." - Lisa Marie Presley

it seems to me that she has her priorities straight. she does not come across to me as the rich shallow material girl. quite the contrary. i'm sure she knows her father lived to give and help others and this quality about him appears to have also made a place in her heart. i'm very happy for her. elvis would have been so proud of her.

I agree with you, Laurie and Wanda, 100%.

Thank you Maia, for posting that quote. It is good to confirm from her own words what can be felt directly from our hearts.

It must not be easy for her to handle it, since she has had and has a complex life (could not be different for one that has to develop quickly awareness of herself to put her energy to others service). Anyway, I have the strong feeling that she is very much helped through.

My thanks to you as well Maia for posting that beautiful quote! :) Lisa Marie really seems to personify the old saying"like Father like daughter". :D She DEFINITELY is a "chip off the ol' block" and like you said Blue Moon, I am sure that Elvis would be and still is very proud of her!! :D I can literally feel her Daddy's loving and caring spirit radiating through her in those words. :)

EVEN THOUGH ELVIS MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE AROUND LISA GROWING UP, HE STILL PUT THE RIGHT INFLUENCE INTO LISA. HOW VERY MUCH SHE SOUNDS LIKE HER FATHER, GOOD FOR HER AND I KNOW ELVIS IS SMILING DOWN ON HER. YOU GO GIRL! :D FAIRYTALE!

Hmmm, I just chose it from my collection of Lisa web photos. I like her sweet smile in it. I DO know that she has had her share of health problems, and possibly inherited her father's genetic disease.

I was watching tv (Jim watches Bill ORiley on Fox) and I saw the clip of Lisa with her daughter who was kissing her boyfriend who is 24 and she is 17 according to the news-that wind bag on tv was using the picture as an example of how teenagers "go wrong" by saying Lisa was "encouraging her display of overt affection" in public since Lisa was "pulling her daughter's hair out of the way so the guy could get a clear shot at her for the kiss". Lisa was maybe trying to hide it from the photographer's lens. Whatever, it was irritating to hear the wind-bag guy going on about it when most likely they were either just arriving from somewhere and her boyfriend was meeting her or just leaving to go somewhere away from him. I think they were greeting after being apart as that was my first take on it before "wind-bag" tried to dirty it up as he usually does. I can't stand that guy, he thinks he is god's gift and is so negative about most everything that isn't coming from him-after all he is a "god" and knows everything. Anyway, I'm sure it will make all the headlines in the trash papers as will anything they do between now and Elvis' birthday...which I keep trying to make into to day for some reason! Werid. It is Joe Krein's birthday today-please wish him well. wjh
