Raven is my 5th favorite Lisa song after Lights Out, Sinking In, Nobody Noticed I, So Lovely.

What are your thoughts on the song?

Quote:

Raven Lyrics:

And as the raven flies she feels unwelcome
She's fallen out of her tree and caught on a limb of silver lining
Her wings uncertain oh but she's still flying
Yeah little Raven I see you there

Hold your head up now
I won't try and pull your feathers out I promise
Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Why don't you fly with me
We'll have a chat and a cup of tea
And a long lost need to see who's really there

And you'll finally be okay with me
And I'll hear your stories
That fill your sad eyes
When you had raven hair

Hold your high up high
I know that I've been ruthless
I've been ruthless

Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Go on dry your eyes
Hey you finally see me - hi
And I see you
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Lisa was truely born to write

I don't know the song, but if the lyrics are about her mother, i feel it is a good way to express her feelings!

Quote:

And I see you
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now

Beautiful lady

Beautiful!

And in the interview she said ,"
Quote:
Presley says she and Priscilla have finally "blended," and gotten to a place where they accept each other for who they are. "

Great!!

Yes Sarena the song is about her mother.

Some one made this video of the song and the child and the mother speaking at the beginning and the end are Lisa and Priscilla. That part was taken from one of the "care packages" Priscilla would send Elvis (of Lisa talking and singing) while he was away on tour and this particular song at the start is "I Think I Love You" 1970s hit.

Here is the link to the video

She had a hard roe to "hoe" alone...with more than half the world and her child, giving her the "evil eye" and "talking behind her" all the way. Lisa couldn't help but be angry, it was natural for a child to feel the need to blame their mother when something happened to the beloved father so soon after divorce etc:. Everyone tended to feel that if she had stayed with him, let him have his career and then be happy to have him come home to her and the child(ren) he would have made it in his world so much better. But maybe not-with age and experience, children began to see and understand that was not likely more than a "dream" and what happened was between to adults who had "grown apart" -him inlcluded...he even said that. Lisa grew up, understood, looked back and saw the "cruelty" of it all being dumped on her mom-she's her father's daughter, she saw, she stepped up and "fixed it" and it worked and is working. I think Elvis couldn't have come up with a better little girl child if he had made her piece by piece himself! She got his best traits and his looks...darn, some people have it all! wjh

I think Elvis said it best here in this song

Quote:
Some day when shes older, maybe she will understand
Why her mom and dad are not together
The tears that she will cry when I have to say goodbye
Will tear at my heart forever

some how i do understand why Lisa has done some of the things (which were/ are obviously wrong). I mean imagine your father who was your whole world the person you loved most just gone for good not just that people start writing all sorts of things about him espically books like the Goldman's book which was co-written by one of you father's "friends" Pris said that Lisa read that book how confused could a little girl be!! that book was written when lisa was 14! thats when she started that confused stage of her life...i applaude her for being brave enough to wake up at the right time and after the first warning..looking at the news and at today's "teen scene" jeez she was a brave little girl..no doubt daddy's girl. :D

She was on Oprah WAYYY back with Pris and she was talking about the song among other things. it was one of the best Presley interviews i've seen to tell u the truth. In it they speak about their relationship and Pris talks about the regrets she has and the mistakes she made raising Lisa.. she mentioned how men that arent the father of the child come in and then your in the middle. it was a pretty good interview.
If you want I'll try to post it on youtube

Thanks for offering but half or more than half the time I can't hear or see YouTobe most of the time. I get pieces now and then but it takes forever and they just repeat the same "pieces" and not all of the view ever.
She ought to know about men coming in that are not the father of the child etc....there were several of those.
Lisa wasn't about to take up with them as daughter-she had her Elvis even if he were only in memory by then. It had to be tough for both her and her momma. And her daddy most likely just had to turn his head and not look on or else was busy elsewhere and didn't have to know any of that-I think Heaven would be a safe place for heart and spirit and one where one healed from the time on earth...and only after one has adjusted to spirit could they again view earth's inhabitants...He and I questioned about that aspect of things just a few months before he made the transition...he thought one could look on and be able to help if needed and one were spiritually tuned when crossed over. Like he hoped he would be able to help his loved ones...and a few others he added but didn't say whom they might be. He was questioning and discussing everything aspect of the hearafter and the
present time frame then...and his alternatives. wjh

Pris said that her biggest regret/ mistake while raising Lisa is letting men into her life..i didnt really have an opnion about Pris before that interview but after she said that i though "wow that must be hard admitting your mistakes on international television for the whole world!!"
