I was reading your post about this song. I was thinking about the meaning of the song with a few words of it. I know the song too. And I search on you tube and found it and also the version with Roger Whittaker.

Thank you Wanda you made my day. I am so happy that your husband Jim like it and listen to it.

Me too, I listen to most of my Elvis songs of my little mp3 player.

Have a Memorial Day week-end.

It is very difficult indeed to make a selection of Elvis songs. There below is my list of those that, when hearing them, I wish they would not finish...

-Gentle on My Mind
-I'm Leavin'
-The Twelfth of Never
-A Thing Called Love
-Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain (the last song he sang at home before flying up)
-Snowbird
-If I Can Dream
-I'll Remember You (irresistible and seducing...)
-Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues
-Solitaire

(No,no... I can't stop now...!! I can't leave out soooo many...! :( )
:hello:

Me TOO...how can one choose just a few???? I get really "into" his phrasing and the emotion he puts into some words, and sometimes it's just out there so strongly as if "trembling in the very air"...his voice I mean, in certain songs and little syllables...he was so amazingly talented vocally and also in how his interpretation of the writer's intent in writing what he wrote...gifted was not a good enough word to describe that guy's abilities with a song lyric and even his hand in the musical accompaniment. He truly fits the "genius" category in the field of musical accomplishments...and he did it in so few years time! Yet it is the type of thing that will NEVER wear out, go away or be forgotten or even replaced.
Not much else need be said.

Wanda, I'm happy to know that we have some favorite Elvis songs in common.
He was able to put so much of himself into his songs. I think that they really allow us to know him. Like For Ol' Times Sake, he has got to be singing that to and about He and Priscilla. I keep meaning to look up what year he recorded that one.
I just thought of a few... Loving arms, Pieces of my life, Bringing it back.
All of these are slow meaningful songs but he's got great fun and happy music too.

Take care, Camille
