I was listening to Elvis today, some of my favorites that I hadn't heard in quite a while, It's Midnight, Pieces of my Life, I met Her Today, Thinking of You, and some others that I can't recall exactly their names-Oh, the one Tony joe White wrote (for Elvis by the way after hearing of how emotionally upset Elvis was over his marriage etc:) Old Times Sake...Tony Joe nailed it right on too boy! He is an excellent song writer and thanks to Elvis, I came upon Tony's music in the 70's. I loved his funky guitar foot stomper thing he had going for him. And got to see him perform and meet him as well-a very nice family man who was honest and good hearted. He sure liked Elvis and had admired his talent for a long while. Elvis did several of his songs-I especially like that last one and Elvis did it so beautifully because he felt it, of course. I agree that he had the finest voice I have ever heard-it wasn't just his ability to use the voice-it was his heart that came out through it. That is what always got to me even when I very first heard the guy sing and didn't have a clue who it was! It was the heart and soul that he put into his voice-he couldn't help but do it and that made him so special. So many sing well, but they haven't got that heart in it-they may have a good voice, sound great-but it's not "real" and with Elvis it was that.

Antonio and me have choosen "A Thing Called Love" as the hymn for our Gran Canaria's project. I play it first thing every morning to fix the intention and the energy in the right direction.

The pity for me is that Elvis sings so fast the words, that I can't follow him as well as I do in other songs. But I love that song (and so many, many more...). :P
