Being a fairly new Elvis fan, I still have not seen all his movies. I think I have 5 left to go.
Over the weekend I saw Easy Come Easy Go for the first time. I was expecting it to be awful because I had read that Elvis hated this movie.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't his best movie; but not the worst either. Of course, I watched the movie to see Elvis, and he shines in any movie no matter what the script is like. I thought the underwater fight scenes were suspenceful & very well done. Per Wanda's book, there was a double doing some of the fight scenes, but that Elvis did some as well, applying his knowledge of karate.

The only part where I really had to cringe and feel bad for Elvis was during the "Yoga Is As Yoga Does" song. Elvis must have really had to swallow his pride to sing that song. Poor guy. What he was made to do. Perhaps being forced to do that song is what made him hate that movie.

Probably. That song and the other with the wheel of fortune, the first he sings after the titles. I think he looks ashamed singing it...

At least, he had an interesting experience with his diving trainer (a beautiful girl that left him breathless).

Critically speaking, King Creole and Jailhouse Rock are deemed to be Elvis' best movies. And why not, as they both have good scripts and music, and challenging acting roles for Elvis for which he did great.

But when it comes to playing movies on my DVD player, I find that I play Change of Habit and Trouble With Girls the most. I think it is because I can see aspects of the real Elvis (as I envision him to be based on what I've heard, read & seen) in each of these movies.

In Change of Habit I see Elvis' compassionate caring loving nature come through.
In Trouble With Girls, even though he isn't trying to be funny, he has this twinkle in his eye and it's like the humorous trickster part hides just beneath surface.
Plus these movies have great close-up shots of Elvis, and he was very happy at this time in his life. It shines through.

I agree 100 %, Laurie-Elisia! :P

There are two other that I play often: "Follow That Dream" (love to see that purity in his face) and "Wild In The Country" (where I can find the sweetest and truest love scene I've ever seen in one of his movies).

I also like very much Follow That Dream and Wild In The Country.
He has such charming innocence in Follow That Dream,
and yes I agree with you about that very touching & tender love scene in Wild In The Country.

I think this is a close-up of that scene:

There are some Elvis films I have never seen yet.
Before DVDs came out it was annoying to watch these films on Tv or Video, because of the German dubbing of Elvis' voice....mostly it was awful :? :( .

There are only a few I have seen in the original version, as CHANGE OF HABIT and LIVE A LITTLE; LOVE A LITTLE. I liked both these films very much!!!! :D

I share what you say there, Sarena. In Spain films are dubbed too and it's really a pity to loose Elvis' voice! Thus I try to get the originals, even when I can't catch everything is said. (I'm better in written English than understanding it when it's spoken quickly, as is usual in many Elvis' films).

Same with me, Amanda! But the new DVDs have also English subtitles, this helps me, when spoken too fast, I read along and understand  8)

I watch German tv somethimes, or films that come on those channels. I like the German language, but in an movie I rather hear the original voices, aspecially if it is Elvis haha.

Does anyone know what movies Elvis did like to do??

Love, Raina
