Has to be one of the best Elvis tribute songs ever, and the video is well done. Have to agree with one of the comments (minus the F word :? ) -- He's too darn cute in the footage from the '68 Special @ :41-48!

I made one with the same song.

It is amazing how many people know the song but don't know it is A ELVIS TRIBUTE.

I "love" that song. I feel and I sense the South in it. It is like being in Tupelo, strange but true.

By the way the tribute of Miss clawdie was great too. I like her, she is one of "the nice ones" on TCB too :D

I never heard before "Black Velvet", but I loved it. Here are the lyrics for anyone that might wish it:

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please

Up in Memphis the music's like a heatwave
White lightening, bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love me tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please

Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could you do?

(Guitar Solo)

Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please

Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
Black velvet if you please
If you please, if you please, if you please

Both videos are great!

Thanks to Wanda Mc for the video link and Amanda for providing the words. I had heard Black Velvet before but did not know that song was a tribute to Elvis. Just didn't pay close enough attention to the words. I see by reading the words you posted Amanda that clearly it was meant to be a tribute to him.
