So Elvis dreams he's makin' out with women like it's some kind of an assembly line and none of the women are noticing him when he's with another woman.
I don't know what to make of his dream because on the surface it doesn't sound like Elvis. He cared about each and every woman & fan he met. Maybe he was at a point in his life when he was emotionally drained from his separation from Priscilla. When did Elvis have this dream?

The dream could signify maybe a deeper emptiness he felt in his own life. All that adoration from women but most never really knew him, just so caught up with his image and all. How could they really love him with that true godly unselfish kind of love? All that fan adoration at it's core is perhaps leaving him feeling a little empty because there's a void in him which only God can fill?

Or it could be as simple as perhaps having an off concert day and feeling like maybe he didn't give his fans his best???

Each interpretation are good, Laurie. :)

Let me comment some other too:

Elvis was upset by his dream. It looks like it was a fearfull dream.

Quote:
Wanda: I didn't see anything close. Maybe it's just because so many females are...after you, and have been for so many years. You probably are picking up on their thoughts...thousands come to see your shows you know. And they think-alot.
Elvis: Gawddd, hope that's it...'cause it's...kinda scary. Makes me think I'm silly in the head! Just so-so strange-so-so damn boring the way it's happening...no emotion...no...anything...An' I'm goin' 'bout it as if-if -nothing matters...
Wanda: Well, you said you were learning not to care-maybe that's what your dream is showing you?
Elvis: Maybe---never thought of it that way...it's not a a good feellin'.... (he said very softly, almost as if to himself.

I think Wanda made a point there: He said that he was learning not to care. I have the feeling that Elvis was afraid about losing his humanity if he did learn it. That for him, it was a matter of white or black. For him, Love coloured Life and made Life meaningful. Probably he had the connection made between Love and Wisdom: "Makes me think I'm silly in the head!" He felt that he was demanded by all those women standing in the line and Love was what he had for them. If not, it was something empty and scary: inhuman.

That is kind of what I thought posting this-he was afraid he was wasting his humanity-becoming that 'robot' so often he said he felt like-or wasn't and didn't want to be.
The fact he was shocked said alot also-that even he wasn't aware of what was happening to himself and it scared him to think that's what he had become in the dream. This was in around mid 74's and he was battling with his desire to get loose from the guilt and loss of his family and trying to have more time with his daughter while touring and playing Vegas and Tahoe and Linda was there and he was struggling with his emotions regarding her and still the feelings he had toward his ex and wanting things to be like he dreamed-a family. And he had lot of othe things going on, money problems, mm problems, fan's becoming violent at concerts, demands being made on him from so many moochers and his dad not feeling good, and too, Elvis was not feeling good either...he was taking too many pills trying to continue-trying to forget-trying to pretend and I think his dream was a "wake up" in the one way that would reach him-his love for and need for female understanding and really, about all the "outside" world and "real life" that he was allowed to have at that time.
The guys were becoming very selective and shielding him from everything normal other than just what he knew or thought was normal in his life. It was the end of his naive outlook on life actually-73 was a turning point in his life-it shows in pictures of him when he was being himself and not "faking it". The innocence he had so many years was gone from his eyes, the difference in 69-70 and 73 -74 when he's caught just being himself, is right there-in his eyes. And I think he was just dreaming about that-everything was jaded, boring, gone and he was losing himself, losing the ability to "care" as he said. It scared him because without that he would become like that "robot" he feared being. he didn't want to be another one of those-going through the motions of life and feeling nothing but contenempt for himself because of it. And to cover his fears and doubts he turned to humor...making light of the situation as he had always done. wjh

again I sense some frustration or disappointment and hurt..as if he was saying, "here.. take me and let me go to my way..since physical me is the only thing you care..no one will care enough to know the real me that's what I mean to everyone ..a subject to make 'em happy no matter how, where or when."..no will to fight or no hope to expect better..well maybe I sound too pessimistic but those are what came to my mind when I read his dream..

Zey, I feel that what you are signaling above was part of his reality in that moment. That must have been a time of doubt and shadow, a trial for him. But, he took hold of himself and passed it, as we already know.

Every great life has many trials along the path. The wonderful thing for us, about Elvis', is that we know that he was victorious in what was intended for him. To be able to know that, takes out all the pains I could feel and let me proud and happy. He did a good job and we know that what is of a high value, costs a high price. He could not have a cheaper life. 8)

Yes, indeed!

Of course, there is not comparison posible, because only Elvis was meant to do his function on Earth in his lifetime.

It's useful to think the same about ourselves: we are unique and nobody is able to do our function neither. That feeling draws from us responsability, yes, but also, it help us to love ourselves more and appreciate what we are called to live. :P

I DO THINK ELVIS HAVING THIS DREAM WAS A WAKE UP CALL, TO NOT ALLOW HIMSELF TO BECOME WHAT ALL OF THESE SO CALLED FREINDS AND THE COLONIAL WANTED HIM TO BE. I THANK GOD HE DIDN'T BOW DOWN TO THESE PEOPLE! FAIRYTALE!

he couldn't be a person that wasn't exist in him...and he remained the same all the way.. just he was much more aware later of the things that was happening around him..Ugliness that is mostly..but he's been through all the ugliness still able to find the good in individuals and won at the end..
