It makes me sad to read the article from the below link. The goddess dolphin, a Chinese fresh water dolphin which has been here for 20 million years, is now extinct due to "devastating pollution, illegal fishing and heavy cargo traffic on the Yangtze". The story includes video footage.

A free way to help needy & neglected animals:

Quote:
Free food for Shelter Dogs and Cats - Animal Rescue Site

Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple......

The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.

It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on the
purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This doesn't cost you a thing.

Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Click on it!

http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com

Just in case you were wondering.....
Snopes.com says this is legitimate! Check it out yourself below....

Just to help you see how your clicks help feed abused & neglected animals,
here is a graph from their site showing the number of food bowls recently given:

Quote:
Dec.22 - 50,491
Dec.21 - 142,889
Dec.20 - 159,317
Dec.19 - 152,637
Dec.18 - 165,306
Dec.17 - 170,112
Dec.16 - 98,446

. . . .
Your clicks count! Since The Animal Rescue Site began in 2002, together we have funded more than 126,000,000 bowls of food for rescued animals in shelters and sanctuaries.

I noticed that they also have animal e-cards. Might be a way for some to send Christmas e-cards.
Scroll down a bit and click on the appropriate box.
I'd post the direct link, but I want folks to see the main page with the free click purple donation box first.
(See link given a few posts above)

They are so cute! And 6 years isn't that old for a dog...we've had several go and do well up into the teens...with the last 2 reaching 16 and 18 before they
began having serious issues and were better being put down than suffering.
My suggestion is don't feed them anything with wheat in it and little corn...
animals are having problems digesting the GMO grains and so are a lot of people...me being one of them. I had to give up wheat totally...and do a lot better for it.
We feed Blue Diamond/Blue Buffalo to our dogs and our cats...have to watch the protein content in all dog and cat foods or they suffer kidney problems down
the road...so do horses if they get too much.
Well, just wanted to acknowledge your puppies...It's been a while!
Love always,
wanda june
