Ka'rala, what a cute little birdie friend you have! How precious. And "Elvis" is the perfect name for it. :D

Yes, that is a beautiful redbird! We don't see them here-but I have seen them in Oklahoma. The last time I was back there it was winter and there were redbirds who came to eat the seed my brother threw out on a paper plate in the snow for them. It was a pair and he said they were always there every winter when there was snow. I can't recall seeing many of them at all when I was a kid, mabye I didn't notice-I was too into cows, pigs, chickens and wanting a horse of my own. Anyway, I love the redbird now because it reminds me always of Elvis- thanks Laurie and Karola-what a beautiful bird to name Elvis! a wild one at that! Lucky you, it's great when a wild creature "knows you". wjh

Thanks, Laurie, I never read that before! And those pictures were SO beautiful.
There were a pair of cardinals out on our birdfeeder this afternoon and I watched them for a long time, not knowing that in a few hours they'd take on added meaning for me. I'm with you, Wanda- from now on, I won't be able to see one and not think of Elvis.
Ka'rala, best wishes with not smoking!!! I'm keeping you in my prayers.
Love,
Trish
