with ELC and explorer and other things, slow scrolling and freezing up. Maybe due to so much on the pages? Or too many trying to see it at the same time. It's worse on some things than others and then really bad at times, good at others. Could be overloaded? Maybe we need to delete some of the older things-posts etc:/ Like keep just for a month then delete? Anyone know?
I hope you can get some relief Zey! wjh Watson is supposed to help! I haven't done the 6 pages that Microsoft help told me yet-I'm afraid to do all that stuff!

Maybe we could delete older posts, but I would like for your posts Wanda to remain viewable, as they are so informative. Could some kind of archive be set up?

I was wondering if it would be possible to put everything on cd and save it that way on regular basis-then it could be copied and have a record in case things go bust. Any one know if it can be? I will do it if so. wjh

O.K. I discovered that a hijacker installed "WINK" spyware on to my computer. Reading up on it sounds like it's been the cause of my pop up problems, and maybe others in the forum as well. And my antispyware did not catch it.

CHECK IN YOUR PROGRAM FILES - and if there is WINK, click on it and uninstall it. I did and so far it's been quiet. Hope this is the answer to all the pop ups & site redirections.

I have a feeling these hijackers target forums as they can get lots of people this way.

Bear in mind that microsoft's updated browser is really funky. It downloads automatically (unless you know how to turn this feature off) and it is really a mess! Simeon, as a web designer is furious with it, as he know that at least one of the funky things it is doing was purposely put in there to keep this other rival of Microsoft's from charging them for something they don't want to pay for. I know that doesn't make sense, but it's the best I can do to explain something, when I don't know what I'm talking about! Simeon told me and I didn't understand it.

Forums like this run on php scripting, which is touch and go anyway. Image
