My dad is 94 years old, he now has nearly lost his vision except around the outer edges and can't watch tv anymore or do a lot of the things he used to do. He has always worked hard during his life, and he still goes out and "farms" in the green house raising tomato plants. He loves cats and dogs and used to have cows, pigs and chickens. He tried a lot of ways to make a living...before that he was in the Navy and helped build the runways for the planes that landed and took off from islands out there between Japan and the US. He came home from the war in l943-44 and began painting automobiles and it turns out he was the very first to use spray paint lacquer and do two tone paint jobs on cars, trucks and buses. His first two tone lacquer paint job was on his own Studebaker pickup and it got a lot of attention...making him a "star" in Tulsa, Ok. My dad was a strong, caring and special guy, he still is. Right now he is in a fight for the remainder of his life- he needs our prayers and I hope that everyone reading this will please just ask our Lord to keep an eye on J.C. because he is one of His kids and has been for years a dedicated and sincere human being. My dad just had a birthday, which he spent in emergency and he may have to spend some more time in a hospital. Please ask God to keep him safe from those who just want to make money off whatever they can- let him have a doctor/specialist who isn't just about the money but knows the caring way is to treat what can be treated and block out the pain from the rest... his finale time here ought to be peaceful, pain free and worth hanging on for. Dad says he's ready to go, but he doesn't want to suffer up to the last breath. That is his wish. Mine also, for him and for everyone else who feels that way. Thank you friends, Love to all, may God's blessing fall upon you like a nice spring rain. wjh

Thanks Laurie, so far the tests have not come back...but I think and hope it was just that he has been sitting too long in one spot... He was always very active and out doing things, walking, plowing, planting and then the last few years he worked in the green house raising tomatoes and he still tries to go out and do that- keeping a wood stove going in early spring so his plants would get a head start- and they did! His plants made enough produce that my brother kept all the stores supplied with good tomatoes and then okra in later summer time. It was planted outside and dad did the tractor work with James doing the harvesting and hoeing. He worked a day job too, so he had some late days, fer sure. Dad is tough, he has been through a lot in his lifetime and he was always strong and going along fine. A Capricorn he was, and he was dedicated to hard work and keeping busy. Will keep you posted when I know- wjh

Right, we all have things we have to do, and teaching is quite a challenge, anyone who can do that is special! We miss you Maria, glad to see you here again. My dad is doing better, he is in rehab now and needs constant attention since he can't see except a tiny bit out of the corners of his eyes and his hearing is about gone. He has an angel watching over him, living one and spiritual one! This is the power of faith/prayer/believing: On his birthday, the full moon, he began to bleed and it would not stop. He was taken by his son (one of his angels) to the hospital where they prepared to do surgery the next day...on a full moon. Well, they thought he had a small heart attack, so postponed surgery, well he then seemed to have had a slight stroke on one side...but the bleeding stopped, he was doing better and they discovered he was 3 pints low on blood so he got a transfusion and perked right up. So he didn't need surgery that would most certainly have caused him more problems, and he did not need anything else done for the bleeding. So now it's to rehab until they are sure his infection and the possible stroke etc is gone...then he can come home if his first angel gets a length of time off to care for him with unemployment which our President has included in his health care bill (the one so many supposedly hate... Funny, I haven't come across anyone who says they don't like it...just the opposite- and they do not mind the few extra dollars they may have to pay. It's worth it when you really need help.) So, prayer helped my dad, all those things fell into place and saved his life one more time. Faith is believing, and that is powerful stuff because our spiritual selves are tuned to the super power of the Heavens. God bless all of you dear souls who come here and find solace, joy, laughter and peace of spirit. Never, ever be timid about requesting prayer... It is an expression of spiritual power-use it. 2/24/12 Post script: My dad didn't go to rehab, he went to an intensive care facility where they are looking after him 24 hours a day. He is stronger, but has some weakness in his left arm. My brother goes everyday to stay a while with him, and then goes home to take care of things there, they have cats and dogs- Thank you for your prayers, he would not be doing as well without them and the strength of faith from God's children. wanda

Hi, our Laurie ( Bluewater Fall) needs us to pray that she will be able to get the job and make the move to another state in the near future! She has been living "on the edge" for quite a while and this is a great opportunity to make a good change. Thank you for caring for so many of us.
God works in many ways, His wonders to perform. We sure do know that here! Love, peace and good health to all, wjh
