It certainly does, doesn't it? Yeah, like Laurie I prefer full screen or letterbox, not too keen on double widescreen, hope you enjoy Loving You too, Laurie!

I would imagine those calls between Elvis and Lisa must have been surely so special between them and have meant so much on both sides. Do feel Lisa did pick up and sense that Elvis was ill and just wanted to be with her Daddy as much as she could just in case anything did happen which it did later of course.

Just wonder if Elvis' tendency to blame himself and take the fall for many of the things others did to him etc maybe did link to the sense that maybe - unnecessarily it has to be added, he felt guilty for the death of both his Mom and Jessie Garon? I mean, did he feel he had to 'make up' for the fact that he felt, somehow, that what happened to them was his fault somehow? It wasn't and there was truly nothing he could have done, period but his ability to forgive so many of those who did so much wrong to Elvis seems almost too good sometimes - I'm hoping you'll understand what I mean, here? Certainly, nothing against our boy - it just gets me sometimes that's all!

guilt

Postby Wanda June Hill » Sat May 20, 2006 1:28 pm

Hi, He did say her death was his fault because he was doing things she had not wanted him to do, he was in "danger" she felt all the time, he was working so hard and getting sick and she wasn't there to care for him. It must have been terrible for her with him on the road and having seen people mob and hurt him and is father said twice they crushed the top of the car they were in and once turned it over with them in it...crowds of people wanting to touch Elvis. So I know he felt guilty and he was also not being her "good boy and leavin' them bad women alone" either. She knew her son's loving nature, his gentle and kind heart and that he would give and give and give his all until exhausted and fall sick. We don't know how many times he was in the hospital or emergency that went un known to any press people. A goodly number I believe-from listening to storys he'd tell about what and where things happened and he'd always laugh about it though I know it must have scared him half to death-it was one of his biggest fears, crowds that he could not get away from and also that those fans, those same ones who love him so might crush somebody trying to get to the front to reach him. And did break a lady's leg in Long Beach where our seats were ripped from the floor shortly after we left them to stand at the stage sides to help keep people from Elvis at the closing number. It was really scary and I know there had been much worse goinig on that we never saw. People are animals-and worse as if they have lost their minds! And it's catching apparently! wjh

OK, THANKS FOR CLEARING THAT UP FOR ME, WANDA. IT'S ONE THING TO ENJOY WATCHING ELVIS BUT TO HAVE GONE SO CRAZY THAT THEY'D PUT OTHER'S LIVES IN DANGER INCLUDING, IRONICALLY ELVIS' (WHO THEY SAID THEY LOVED!) WAS WAY TOO MUCH!!! YES, I CAN IMAGINE THE SITUATION AT LONG BEACH WHERE THAT LADY'S LEG WAS BROKEN MUST HAVE BEEN TRULY SCARY TO WITNESS..

I KNOW, TOO, IF ELVIS WAS ABLE TO HELP AND STOP PEOPLE FROM GETTING HURT, HE'D DO HIS BEST TO PHYSICALLY DO SO OR TELL THEM SO THEY COULD AVOID THE DANGER OR GETTING CRUSHED. IT MUST HAVE BEEN LIKE A CATTLE STAMPEDE AT TIMES!!

In memory of Elvis' mother I just wanted to bring this back to the front. Know the thread was started by me,  but was a very beautiful dream and experience and such a sweet, lovely lady!

A lovely thought that now they're back together again for all time! :)
