Yeah, he and Red I think it was-one of the guys anyway, Elvis said he put a "few words in here and there" but it wasn't enough to make that difference. He wasn't happy his name was put on it...just as he wasn't when it was put on a few others. The one he did help write and was pleased with was You'll Be Gone...with the sort of flamenco beat guitars and Priscilla didn't like it- or think much of it at the time. He laughed talking about that but it did make him a little ruffled that she didn't take his song writing efforts seriously, I think she might have mentioned that either on interview or in a book? Some one told me that-but right now don't know where it came from other than "hearsay" sooo.... I kind of think he never said much about ever doing it again around her-I could be wrong though about that-as he did in the last couple of years start doing some putting down his thoughts kind of writing which was poetic or prose style. I think he could have written songs and done very well with them...he just didn't have the confidence but he took other's songs and made them his own, changed a word here and there, changed how he sang the words and often, did them like he'd heard them-but still made them his own with his unique style and ability to feel the words and make the listener feel them also. That's gifted in it's self. wjh
