I guess he didn't have enough money on hand to do that and he had to keep working to pay debts and salaries etc; and he was too alturistic to say sorry fellas, you're on your own for a while. He thought for a few months he was going to make it, that he had a chance I know he did, he felt better, what ever was done seemed to be working, and then he had to go back to work and he went down fast. Bleeding from his guts, so much people saw his "bed full of blood" Ed Parker, Patty Perry and another lady all saw this according to them, and I know that Elvis called a friend who was a doctor and was almost in a panic because he was bleeding so much he was scared and didn't know what to do. He had forgotten that he should not take asprin and he had for his head hurt and he didn't want to take pain killers as it contributed to blocking his colon up. He had taken several asprin which triggered bleeding. I guess he was taken to emergency and they gave him something to stop it-I don't know about that-I only know what his doctor friend said about his phone call at 4:15 am from a hotel room where he had spent the night after doing a show....that was during the 55 one nighters he did just before he died in August. No one wanted to go back on tour again, Elvis didn't want to go either, but he didn't have enough money to meet payroll and pay the bills so he was going out again-but he didn't think he was going to make it through it. Said that in fact, but whatever happened would be all right, he said. He really didn't care at that point...he just wanted to stay home...apparently he had not even packed all his books...and he was due to leave out that day the 16th. His books always went on tour...always. wjh
