Wow, she's single again! She seemed like such a nice woman and I thought she was beautiful and very sweet-it shone from her. She was good for Elvis and yes, he did love her-enough that he didn't want her to see him "falling apart" didn't want to see the hurt and pain in her eyes. I don't think he could have stood that-so he made her leave him by being a "cad" and "womanizer" until she had to leave to save herself. And too, he was not taking care of himself the way he ought to have, he was doing things to "get by" to "get it done" and in the end, just about did himself in-and she couldn't have stopped that had she stayed. Thank God he did get himself together in that last year or so-as much as he could. Linda would have made him a good wife, but he wasn't looking for that-not then-had not got over the first one yet-and he didn't want to do that again. He knew he had to be single-he wasn't the marrying kind he said, and in a big way, he wasn't...he had a "wife" and it was "music and his career". I didn't ever meet Linda but I did see her two different times with Elvis and both times he was sweet to her and she certainly was to him. It was obvious that he adored her-looked to her for comfort and security and that she provided those things for him. Looked after him and he came first-and that's how Elvis wanted it to be-and when his little girl was there, Linda was perfect for her too-and he loved that about her. Lisa did call her first-not her mother.
Lisa loved being with Linda and I think it was mutual. I told Elvis he ought to marry Linda and that she would never hurt him-he said, think so huh? Then he kind of mumbled < "She wouldn't-but I'd hurt her." and he changed the subject. He knew he would-I don't think, as much as he wanted to believe he might, that he would ever have been married again even if he were alive today. Not Elvis...he just didn't want that ring in his nose-he wanted to do and be what he wanted, when he wanted and most females wouldn't have put up with such things.. constant going and coming and not bothering to explain or even feel that he ought to????
Forget that buddy.... wjh
