"If it were not for God. . ."

Here is an excerpt/quote from We Remember, Elvis by Wanda June Hill. Elvis is speaking.

"Well...uhh...it's true I've always been basically religious...uhnnn...ah if you could use that, er ...term. I was brought up from infancy to believe in the Almighty and to believe very strongly in God. I pray when I'm troubled...I go to God for help...an' enjoy reading the Bible an' studying it and other religious books...I...uhh...like to discuss the Bible with people an' get their opinions; I owe God as much as I owe the fans...more than I owe them.. If it were not for God...His hand on my life an' the gift He gave me, the ability to sing, to entertain...I would have nothing."

It behooves one to sense God as dwelling within each of us, rather than as some distant entity, far above and seemingly beyond our reach.

Thank you, Laurie!

I was re-reading last night "Inside Elvis" by Ed Parker. He points too how much intention, efforts and time Elvis dedicated to explore the sense of Life and Creation. He had an acute curiosity for everything related to these main matters, even UFOs, in his pursuit to understand God's purpose for his life, as Wanda has told us repeatly. Ed Parker states that he never took anything for granted, but investigated it, and passed it for his analitic filters and hight level of intelligency, before dropping it apart, or assuming it.

What Ed Parker doesn't mention is that some things can't be sized by the mind, but by the Heart and I'm sure Elvis used his in that sense, very much. :P

helleu my dear friends,

I was brought up from infancy to believe in the Almighty and to believe very strongly in God.

Now, reading this what El'vis said i became aware i was never told to believe it was just something i knew with my heart... my parents never spoke of jezus, God, spiritual world, no never...

I am so fortunate El'vis showed me the way to you my beloved circle of E, thru you i found my way back to Jezus, who is my friend too... and i speak 'again' to him as i was a little child.

I can remember now, not by thought only but in connection with my heart.

Finally!

Kirabell, what you say makes a lot of sense. It is the heart connection to God/Jesus which matters the most. One can have a set of beliefs but if there is no heart connection with them, those beliefs become unfufilling & can even make us think we are connected spiritually when we are not. Elvis had both the religious training and the heart connection.

How interesting & wonderful, Kira, that you knew & were connected to Jesus as a little child even though your parents never spoke of him. You remember the scripture when Jesus spoke that we must become as little children? Children have a natural faith and inclination toward the spiritual world. And I'm so glad that even if you left it for a time, you came back to it. Jesus never forgot you even if for a time you left him. You are that loved & special.

AMEN, Blue Moon!

Could it be that the 'seeds' were sown in childhood, that connection was first formed and even despite a deviation for a while, Kirabell was guided and led back via El'vis and ELC to Jesus?!
Seeks to encourage and inspire!
