If we are actors in a play, I wonder where reality is? Could it be that we are all living in a matrix, unaware of what we are missing? That to grasp full reality would mean complete connection to God and one another and an end to suffering and living with limitations?
Laurie, in my opinion you brought it to the point !
In the Eternal Religion of India (called "Hinduism") the life as we live it here, is thought to be a DREAM. It starts in the first manifestations of life in the minerals, then plant life, animal life and finally in the human being.
Only as a human being are we able to consciously reunite with God and doing so we AWAKE from the Cosmic Dream and are then as limitless, omnipresent, omnipotent as God Himself, but still keeping our individuality.
Human life is also seen as a PLAY. When we are tired of playing after countless incarnations we long for God, like the baby who after being tired of his toys cries for his mother until she comes.
Becoming one with God again, the PLAY is over and done.
To me this is very appealing. God waits as long as we chose to want only Him and are satisfied with Him alone. Then he HAS to reveal Himself and in Him we find complete fullfillment for all eternity.
