Loxi Sibely's Elvis Art

Postby maia » Wed Nov 16, 2005 4:25 pm

Remember the beautiful oil paintings of Elvis released by Boxcar? (well, this was back around 1978). This is the artist who did these, and also some work for the Elvis Concerts.

VERY BEAUTIFUL OIL PAINTINGS, VERY DETAILED. SOME LOOK LIKE A POSTER INSTEAD OF A PAINTING! FAIRYTALE!
WITHOUT A SONG THE DAY WOULD NEVER END, WITHOUT A SONG A MAN AIN'T GOT A FREIND, WITHOUT A SONG. SO I KEEP ON SINGING A SONG.

She did good work! We have a couple of things with her paintings copied from them anyway. Menus and a couple of posters from shows-one he autographed-a menu in the black outfit looking cool. And one of him in a red shirt that used to hang in Starla's wall to wall collection of pictures and posters. She has all of them in big tubes and put in the fire shed now-I don't know exactly how much stuff she has collected over the years but there's a lot of it from when he was around too.
At least it won't burn. I love some of those paintings she did- I'm going to go back and look at her horse stuff one of these times when I have nothing else to do-ha. I do want to see what she does with them-because she certainly captured him pretty darn good. Oil painting is hard...I've tried it. not too swift at it though. Takes too much time, letting things dry etc. I like to get it done.
