Do you know of any exceptional good books, DVDs, websites or other presentations on Elvis that reveal his true spirit and beauty as a human being? Post links and reviews of them here.

Sub title is A look back at the Good Times. While I don't agree with all she's written specially in relation to Colonel Parker and a few of the mm, I still would recommend this book purely on concert memories as she saw Elvis a fair few times and also from 1956 through to the 70's.

Although I would say no-one is exactly a new fan here, I think some of her stories about going to see Elvis in concert are very entertaining, would come recommended.

Hi Sue

I have tried to find this book here in Australia with no luck. Wondered if you could expand on what was written about Colonel Parker and the MM. I have some strong views about them myself so maybe the book isn't one for me?

Hi Vera

Got the impression that she was in defence of the Colonel and also apparently I've learnt since she's a friend of Sonny West's so has sort of flipped the coin so to speak for me since then ie not half so keen and interested! I guess she's welcome to her own thoughts and views but on the other hand so are we, huh?!

It's out on loan to another friend right now but maybe when I get this book back you'd be interested in borrowing the book at least then you could have a look into what is, mostly a good book? She said she'd try to get it back by the time I go to see her at the end of November so it'd be a bit of a wait but if you'd be ok with that? No problem either way whether interested or not but please let me know in either case? Thanks!

Sue

Hi Sue

Thanks so much for your reply......well a friend of Sonny West.... :? It's so coincidental but I am having a discussion in another forum about Sonny West. A friend of Sonny's (who just so happens to be a friend of Sandi Pichons) is trying to convince us that he was a real friend to Elvis and wrote that awful book to help/save Elvis......I am finding the subject VERY hard to stomach.

I really do appreciate your very kind offer to loan the book but being in Australia I wouldn't expect to have it sent all this way. I will keep a look out on ebay and amazon for it. It's bound to come up one day.

Thanks again!!!

OK but thanks for letting me know, you're welcome for the offer anyway and maybe you can find a copy on Amazon sometime. However, I appreciate what you say and your thoughts as regards Sonny West!

Sincerely,

Sue
